Welcome to the home page for the Friends of the Hill & Son Grand Organ, a painstakingly restored late 19th Century mechanical pipe organ housed in the Barossa Regional Gallery in Tanunda, South Australia.

The Friends of the Hill & Son Grand Organ are a group of like-minded music lovers who help to maintain, promote and contribute to the rediscovery of this great musical artefact. We hold concerts and events not only with the Hill & Son Grand Organ, but also across the many other beautiful pipe organs in the Barossa Valley, South Australia.

On these pages you can learn more about the Hill & Son Grand Organ and its restoration, and view a gallery of beautiful images alongside short clips of the organ in action. You can also find out about upcoming events being held by the Friends of the Hill & Son Grand Organ, as well as information about contacting us and becoming a member.

Thank you for visiting our site, we look forward to meeting you!

New CD Recording coming soon!

It’s nearly ready! Fabulous young Sydney based organist David Tagg (pictured), made a mid winter visit to the Hill & Son to record our very first CD, ‘Soaring Sounds’. It has now finished production, and the final touches are being put on this wonderful recording as we speak. To say we are excited is an understatement!

If you would like to pre-order a copy of the CD, which we hope to have available for purchase in early November, please email your details to cdsales@barossaorgan.com and we will add you to the list.

Stay tuned for more news and views, and don’t forget to check out our Facebook page!

Our Organ Curator lights up the airwaves in the Barossa!

We were excited when our very own Organ Curator, Secretary and bonafide local celebrity Steve Kaesler (pictured left with a recent tour from a local kindergarten), lit up the airwaves with an interview on Barossa Community Radio station BBBfm on the 5th of October. Steve talked about all things organ, including the upcoming CD release of ‘Soaring Sounds’. Nice work, Steve!

Don’t forget to tune into 89.1fm when you are in the Barossa to hear local news, views and events first hand!
